Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Web Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both front-end and back-end development, possess strong WordPress-specific skills, and have the capability to develop custom websites without using WordPress. They will be responsible for building and maintaining custom WordPress websites as well as non-WordPress web applications, ensuring optimal performance and providing an exceptional user experience.
Responsibilities
Front-End Development:
– Develop and style web content using HTML5 and CSS3.
– Implement responsive design principles for mobile-first development.
– Utilize JavaScript (including ES6+) and libraries/frameworks such as jQuery, React, or Vue.js.
– Use CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS.
– Implement front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
– Ensure cross-browser compatibility and smooth functionality across various devices.
Back-End Development:
– Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and other back-end technologies.
– Utilize MySQL and other database management systems for managing and optimizing databases.
– Work with RESTful APIs to fetch and send data, including the WordPress REST API for custom endpoints.
– Manage server configurations, hosting environments, and domain management using tools like cPanel or Plesk.
WordPress-Specific Development:
– Create custom WordPress themes from scratch, understanding the templating hierarchy.
– Develop custom WordPress plugins to extend functionality.
– Implement best practices for WordPress security and utilize security plugins to prevent vulnerabilities.
Advanced Custom Fields (ACF):
– Install and configure the ACF plugin, utilizing various field types.
– Add custom fields to posts, pages, custom post types, taxonomies, user profiles, and options pages.
– Display custom field data in WordPress templates using `get_field()` and `the_field()` functions.
– Integrate ACF into custom WordPress themes for enhanced flexibility.
– Utilize advanced ACF features and API for customizations.
– Optimize performance, ensuring ACF implementations do not impact site speed, using techniques like local JSON.
– Extend the WordPress REST API to include ACF custom fields for headless WordPress setups.
Custom Website Development:
– Develop custom web applications without using WordPress, utilizing various technologies and frameworks.
– Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and scalability of web applications.
– Implement best practices for security, maintainability, and code quality.
Other Essential Skills:
– Use Git for version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
– Debug and troubleshoot issues, optimizing performance for faster loading times.
– Manage tasks using project management tools like Monday.com or Asana, understanding agile methodologies.
– Communicate effectively with clients and team members, explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
– Stay updated with the latest web development trends and be willing to learn new technologies and frameworks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in WordPress development.
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Web Developer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Experience with MySQL, RESTful APIs, and server management.
- Extensive knowledge of WordPress, including theme and plugin development.
- Proficiency with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and related customizations.
- Experience in developing custom web applications without using WordPress.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and project management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A portfolio of previous web development projects is highly desirable.
